Curriculum-aligned tutoring is a tax-free service focused on supporting Alberta curriculum objectives at the appropriate subject and grade level. These sessions are designed to strengthen understanding, improve performance, and support learning outside the classroom. Support includes concept breakdowns, practice problems, and exam preparation to improve performance and confidence.
Rates:
Individual sessions: $20/hour
Group sessions: $25/hour (flat rate)
In Mathematics (K-12) students learn how to apply mathematical operations (BEDMAS) to solve expressions and equations containing integers, fractions, decimals, and undefined real-number variables. Problem solving through pattern recognition and graphing are also reviewed.
In Science (K-10) students build foundational understanding across core scientific concepts, including basic physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science.
Chemistry 20 & 30 build on foundational chemistry concepts taught from Science K-10. Key topics explored are chemical bonding, equilibrium, acids and bases, and electrochemistry.
General Chemistry I & II support focuses on reviewing and strengthening key concepts in university-level chemistry, including electron behavior (particle and wave models), the electromagnetic spectrum, molecular orbital (MO) theory and energy diagrams, thermochemistry (including Hess’ Law and endothermic vs. exothermic reactions), reaction rates, and acid–base chemistry. Sessions emphasize clear explanations, structured problem-solving, and concept integration to support academic success.
Skill based tutoring are taxable courses offered to provide independent skill growth applicable in daily life. Skills based tutoring is open to everyone at any age, regardless of lifestyle.
*Foundation Skills for Every Life is offered at a lower rate than other courses offered.
Rates:
Skills enhancement: $20/hour
Foundational skills for everyday life: $15/hour (flat rate)
Computer Basics sessions provide foundational support for using everyday digital tools, including file management, internet navigation, and common applications such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. These sessions are designed to build confidence and practical digital literacy.
Computer Basics: Enhanced expands on foundational skills by introducing workflow organization, digital systems, and productivity tools. Sessions focus on improving efficiency through structured file systems, task management, and practical use of digital tools for school or work.
Organization and Planning sessions focus on learning how to structure your time, tasks, and goals. Individuals develop skills in setting goals, breaking them down into achievable steps, and building personalized systems to stay organized and manage their time effectively.
Learn foundational techniques in a one-on-one session including how to crochet basic stitches, read and follow patterns.
